June 8: Crater Lake & Portland, OR
Today we were only about an 1 1/2 hours away from Crater Lake. Our plan was to get there and take the boat tour out to what is know as Wizard Island. Unfortunately, the boat doesn't start running until about July...why you ask, well because the national park is still covered with a ton of snow!

Today we were off to an early start!
On our way to Yosemite Village we drove passed a BEAR and her cub. Mike backed up so we could get a better view, but they were on their way back into the forest...sorry no pictures. We said "Hey Bear" from the car.

We had a late start this morning, probably due to lack of sleep.
Today we spent most of the day tooling around Yosemite & Curry Village. We hiked the 1/2-mile trail to Lower Yosemite Falls, preparing ourselves for the crazy hike we were going to take tomorrow. It is so beautiful! You

This morning we left the little town of Stockon, CA and headed for Yosemite N.P.
After arriving we set up camp and headed down to Yosemite Village. He headed back for dinner and then hid all our food so Mr. Bear, who we are told is active in our campsite, would not bother us.
