The second day of the Canyon we took the Hermit Rest tour, which is about 9 miles via bus. There are several great stopping points along the way. One of our favorite points was Pima Point, from here there is a great view of the Colorado River winding through the Canyon. The rest of the day we enj

As you enter into the park you can tune your radio to the park information station. One of the things it mentioned was that when you see the Grand Canyon it will look like a picture. Well, that is exactly what it felt like...like I was looking at a picture. Words can not accuratly describe the vi

We left the state of Texas and stayed one night in Roswell, NM...no sightings of aliens. Drove all day yesterday, and stopped at the Petrified Forest National Park. It was pretty cool...basically a colorful desert and petrified trees. Last night we stayed in Flagstaff, AZ. We went down to San Fr

At the first sign of daylight Amanda and I divided up and began breaking down everything. After our last night we were both thinking 'Best Western'!

Rise and Shine! We were on the road pretty early this morning. Covered another 600 miles. We made it to Odessa, Texas. On our way we stopped for a couple hours in Dallas. Pretty cool little town, lots of neat architecture. Enjoyed some mexican food (cause that's all we eat) at a little local p

Left Alpharetta, GA around 10:30. Traveled through the good 'ol state of Alabama. Passed through Mississippi and 615 miles later we landed in Shreveport, Louisiana. I would say that Day 1 was very successful :-D
