Let's start with last night, shall we. We didn't back from Canada until about 10:30 p.m., so needless to say it was already dark. No big deal you say? Keep in mind we are sleeping in the woods and when it gets dark it's really dark. We got settled down just in time for the wind to start picking up and the rain to begin.
Around 1:30 I was woken up to see Mike sitting straight up and our car alarm going off. I thought he just couldn't sleep and was playing with the car key and accidentally hit the alarm button. Then it hit me, this was our plan in case we heard something outside our tent and needed to scare it away a/k/a GRIZZLEY BEAR. After figuring out where the flashlight and hatchet where, we calmed down and waited a few minutes. If there was something out there, it was now gone. We, I mean Mike checked out our surroundings and confirmed a negative on beaded eyes in the woods around us.
Back to sleep. ;-)
This morning we packed up our stuff (as planned, no bear going to scare us a way...you believe me right?) and headed to our next adventure for the day, White Water Rafting.
This was our first experience white water rafting, what a blast! The water was a little chilly, but the weather was great. We had an awesome tour guide and we really only had one major moment of fear when Mike, our tour guide told us "seriously back paddle" in a tone you just don't want to hear. Well we made it!
We are currently on our way down to Grand Teton N.P. Are reservations at Yellowstone don't start until Saturday so we thought we would take a few days and check out Grand Teton.
